How to load AgeVisor at Startup.
The AgeVisor POS software does not include a feature to load the program when a PC or POS system boots up. This means when restarting, or powering on a machine the software will not become active until the user starts the software back up. The following instructions explains how to “Create a Task” in Task Scheduler to have the AgeVisor POS software auto start.
Note: For PCs with more than one profile, this operation should be done as Admin.
Open Task Scheduler on your PC then select Create Task.
In General make the Name the name of the Tokenworks software you are using followed by Startup.
Note: If there is more than one profile that will be using the software on the PC select Run whether user is logged on or not and Run with highest privileges.
Click OK after all necessary changes are made.
Once the Name is created go to Triggers and click New.
In New change Begin the task to At Startup. Then change Delay task for to 30 seconds or 1 minute. The delay allows all the background applications to load, so the software starts up correctly. Click OK after these options have been set correctly.
After editing the Triggers go to Actions and select New.
Change the New Action to Start a program. Under Program/script, browse for the file location of the Tokenworks software you are using. The file location of Tokenworks software is as follows C Drive > Tokenworks folder > Software (IDWedge Pro/AgeVisor/Sentry) folder.
Example of file location: C:\Tokenworks\AgeVisor\AgeVisor.exe.
After successfully browsing to the file location click OK.
After the new action has been created go to Conditions. Uncheck all the options available under Conditions then click OK.
After the Conditions have been set, go to Settings.
In Settings select the following options:
- Allow task to be run on demand
- Run task as soon as possible after a scheduled start is missed
- If the running task does not end when requested, force it to stop
Select OK after these options are selected. Your AgeVisor software should now load automatically at startup.
